Best Sports Stadiums in Sydney

If Bondi beach and the opera house are to be swapped for watching the sports of Australia then you’ll be glad to know that within Sydney there are some excellent options for you, whatever your particular favourite sport.

Concord Oval

Slightly outdated these days but the concord oval, rebuilt for the 1987 Rugby world cup, this was used for both Rugby Union and Rugby league and is geographically very well positioned in the city.

Sydney Cricket Ground

Cricket is a huge sport in Australia, and historically one of the games the Aussies are most successful at. Sydney cricket ground is central, has a huge capacity of almost 50,000 and as well as playing host to cricket is also popular for other purposes such as gigs, the Rolling Stones, Billy Joel and Elton John, Michael Jackson, the Eagles, Prince, Green Day and more have played the venue, which has also hosted rugby and more.

The Allianz Stadium

Not to be confused with the German Allianz Arena, this is another whopper of a stadium with 44,000 seats within. It’s very close to Sydney cricket ground and has been used for many different sports.

The Olympic Park

We all remember the Sydney olympics, and there were some huge developments at the time in the world of sports, meaning that the olympic park’s facilities still remain as a great place to hold events within the city.

Most Exciting F1 Circuits and Locations

F1 is a huge sport in the 21st century, with huge fees paid to the drivers, television deals and sponsorship. Perhaps then it is little surprise that there is a huge global interest, and us such, the F1 tour offers some amazing locations for their races, some of which are explored below. Check out the most exciting F1 locations and circuits below:

Silverstone

Silverstone is a name synonymous with racing, and is undeniably one of the classic circuits, set in beautiful English scenery, in Northampton to be precise. It’s configuration was edited around 1993 but in spite of this it is still a great track, set in one of the sporting capitals of the world, England.

Singapore

One of the most exciting tracks as you see the impressive skyline in the background. It often looks like something from a movie, and was the first to host an evening race! Asia’s most exciting offering to our list.

Austin

Americans love their sport and it is no different with F1, this brilliant circuit is brand new having only opened in 2012 and has been described as spectacular by the likes of Jensen Button. You can even take a tour with one of these Austin Grand Prix Packages and see it for yourself!

Monte Carlo, Monaco

Seen by many as the home of F1 and where many drivers choose to live (not only for tax reasons!). Probably the most glamorous of the races, this offers great views of the harbour and a tricky and exciting course to navigate.

Barnett Ghost 400 Crossbow Review

If you’re looking for a crossbow for going hunting, there are quite a few options out there, and picking the best can prove a real challenge. Believe it or not, until recently they have been banned in some places for hunting unless there was a medical reason, but now we can pretty freely use them in the archery season.

Here, I’m giving a quick review of the barnett ghost 400 crossbow. A well built model of crossbow that does set you back a bit of cash, but is it up to scratch?

This bow offers tons of great features, and is seen in many peoples eyes as part of a revolution as the once heavy and slow models we are used to are replaced with faster and more lightweight crossbows, such as this one! It’s features include:

  • 185-pound draw weight
  • 151-foot-pounds of energy
  • 15.75-inch power stroke
  • 400-feet-per-second (FPS) firing velocity
  • 22-inch arrow length
  • Measures 24 by 38 inches (W x D)
  • 7.8-pound weight

Impressively, the Ghost comes with a five year manufacturer guarantee so you can rest assured that they have faith in the workmanship, and that this is a very well built bow. This is even shipped with four custom Gamecrusher arrows and crossbow sling. It does cost a fair bit, as do many of the other models out there, but this is an excellently reviewed crossbow that comes with top recommendation.

What Equipment do I Need to Start Ultralight Fishing?

A lot of avid fishermen out there like to give ultralight fishing a go at some point, and as with all forms of fishing it is important to get the right equipment in place before you start. Some of the websites out there give some slightly misleading advice over what exactly is the top gear for your adventures, so, in this article we’re going to look at what you need to start.

  • A light Lure rod, ideally with a casting weight of 10 lbs, and around 7 ft in size though some are smaller. A light action spinning rod will do the job to start with while you are still developing your skills and taste in equipment.
  • A small, front drag reel.
  • A selection of lures and jigheads, around 1 to 3 g with hook sizes between a 4 and 10 on the numbering system.
  • An easy place to access fish. Sounds daft but this is the most important element to consider! We need easy access to some fish for this type of ultralight fishing.
  • A braided mainline that can handle quite a bit of pressure, if you’re looking for a budget version you could always go for a fluorocarbon line.
  • A dropnet

So there we have it, the main elements you need to start ultralight fishing. It isn’t the simplest thing in the world but it is certainly doable for anyone with a little know how and the passion to go and get started, and it can be a very rewarding area of the sport. Go ahead and get started today!

So what are the best ways to get started in the game, and where should beginners go, or what should they do, to begin building tennis skills.

This sounds pretty basic but one of the main ways humans learn is through watching, and if you are an absolute beginner this will help you to gain a grasp on the way the sport works, the scoring system, types of shots and skills involved.

Read Books

There are some awesome books out there about tennis techniques and though we consume a lot of our information digitally nowadays a good book is as good a method as any to increase your abilities and get started.

Join a Club

Tennis clubs are very popular in some parts of the world and if you’re lucky enough to be near one, I suggest you join for access to equipment, coaches and opponents! There’s no better way than playing the game.

There are many great online resources such as Tennis Blog TennisResource.net which will show you the best equipment, give some top tips and teach you about current tennis professionals.

Take Yourself Out To The Ball Game

The Chicago White Sox are in the midst of a busy regular season and you can catch them in action with tickets to home or away games. The tradition of baseball is alive and well with the White Sox, so be sure to get in the spirit of things. Order a hot dog from a vendor, stand up to sing with the crowd for the seventh inning stretch, and simply enjoy the atmosphere. Chicago White Sox tickets are the perfect way to spend a day or evening in the Windy City

The White Sox will begin a four-game series against the Royals the last weekend in September, making for one of the best viewing times of the year. With a combination of perfect early fall weather and convenient game times, you should make seeing the White Sox one last time in 2013 a priority.

It is never too early to start planning for next season, and 2014 White Sox tickets are already on sale. While spring training dates haven’t been announced yet, tickets to see the ChiSox at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona will soon be available as well, giving

you a number of options to see your favorite team next year.

The White Sox are one of baseball’s oldest, most storied franchises, and have a rich winning tradition. While they haven’t had a lot of success on the field this year, they are still one of the most entertaining teams in the league, and should only improve as their young players continue to develop. It’s always a good time to enjoy a baseball game with your friends or family, so get some White Sox tickets so you can be a part of the action.

Premier League betting: fourth place odds

Betting on who will get the Premier League fourth place is a popular option for football gambling enthusiasts, but anyone who does not have much experience of betting on football would be advised to find out more about the game before putting too much money down. This has been made much easier in recent years given the rise of the online gambling industry. Online bookmakers and casinos alike have cropped up all over the web over the past decade or so and are now highly established within the industry. Online bookmakers allow for users to place a bet through their smartphone at any time and of course they can also have a ‘betting tips’ tab open alongside that. As mentioned this isn’t just the bookmakers, but online casinos such as www.luckynuggetcasino.com/au/online-blackjack also share similar advantages. With apps making them portable, instead of a rare visit being made to a casino, users can now do so from wherever they wish. All the game types are there – roulettes, card games including baccarat, blackjack and of course poker; and sports fans are in luck, with a range of slots games covering almost any sport thinkable. Playing football-themed games like Game On at online casinos (which can be played for free if you aren’t quite willing to place your money down yet) enable non-football fans to familiarise themselves with the teams, players and form before starting.
If you’re not looking for anything outside of sports betting though it can also be useful to know what the odds for the various teams in contention are, as this lets you see which sides are rated the favourites for fourth place, and decide whether you want to back one of the favourites or go for a longer odds bet. In this case, the teams with the shortest odds are Arsenal and Tottenham, rated around 10/11 and 6/5 respectively at most sports betting sites. Arsenal have the prior experience while Tottenham have the financial investment, but backing either of these teams is unlikely to make you serious money – simply because the odds are not long enough. Arsenal may need to expand their squad a little though having still not completely filled the void left by Robin Van Persie.
A team such as West Bromwich Albion, currently in contention according to the league table, will present you with far longer odds – they currently have odds in the region of 80 at many sports betting sites. This reflects the fact that they have never played in the Champions League before, and were not expected to be in their current league position. Betting on West Brom would be a very risky proposition for most people though, but a team like Everton might represent a better option. You can get odds of either 7/2 or 9/2 on them at most sites, which reflects their status as being serious candidates for fourth place, but not one of the hot favourites to get it. Having enjoyed some good years under David Moyes it is likely they will be looking to provide that extra push for the much coveted 4th spot.

Where Will David Beckham Go Next? Becks’ Most Probable Destinations

It’s official. The Beckhams are moving out of their dwelling in LA and heading to another club. After a stint in America, earning Becks a rumoured £10 million + every year (without sponsorship deals and the like), David will no doubt be looking for a decent pay packet in what he is calling his final challenge. Wages might not be a huge issue though as clubs battle it out for the global brand and merchandising phenomenon that is David Beckham. Where are the most likely destinations for the former England and Manchester United man?

Paris St. Germain

PSG are loaded. Fact. They’ll be happy to meet his wages and will be licking their lips at the prospect of pairing Becks up with some of the stars they’ve already invested in. When it was confirmed that David would be on his way, the Paris club were one of the first to declare their interest. Don’t be surprised if this is Posh’s first choice.

AC Milan

The Milan following know Becks well after his time their earlier in his career, and we reckon a return would certainly be welcomed by the fans. Another destination that Victoria might be keen on due to it being a fashion paradise.

Australia (Perth Glory or Melbourne Heart)

Both clubs have declared an interest in Becks, with Heart’s chief exec Scott Munn telling the press ‘What I can say is that it’s certainly real, we’re putting forward an offer, it’s compelling and the opportunity is here for him to come here. That is absolutely legitimate. Let’s let David get through next week, play the final of the MLS and hopefully he’ll have a win.’ Rumours of Beckham down under were around before it was confirmed that he was on his way out of Galaxy.

Manchester United

You never know, right? United seem a little short in the Midfield area and whatever you believe about the relationship between Fergie and Becks, the two no doubt have worked together to good effect in the past. Lets just hope he doesn’t take any lessons from Victoria when it comes to comebacks, eh?

Shanghai Shennua

China has become one of those ‘career twilight’ moves, and rumours are rife that Beckham could follow Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba in making moves to Asia, who are reportedly paying stupid money as they increase the commercial appeal of football in China.

UAE

There are a few clubs in the UAE that would probably fancy a punt on Beckham, and have the cash to make it happen too. Not sure what Posh and the kids will make of a move to the middle east, though…

Where do you think Becks will end up? Is a return to England on the cards or a big money last hurrah? Leave us a comment below.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic Quotes – From the Funny to the (Very) Arrogant

As Zlatan Ibrahimovic continues to prove himself as one of the brightest talents of his generation, we thought it was an appropriate time to delve into the long list of memorable quotes the Sweden man has treated us to. A nice way to describe Zlatan would be to say that he doesn’t suffer with modesty, and as you’ll see from his words, confidence has never been an issue for the former Barcelona, Ajax and Milan man.

On his ongoing feud with former boss Pep Guardiola:

  • “I felt like crap when I was sitting in the locker room with Guardiola staring at me like I was an annoying distraction, an outsider. It was nuts. He was a wall, a stone wall. I didn’t get any sign of life from him and I was wishing myself away every moment.”
  • “I asked for a meeting with Guardiola – for a discussion, not an argument. I said I was being used in the wrong way and that they shouldn’t have bought me if they wanted another type of player.“I told him what a friend had said to me – ‘you bought a Ferrari but drive it like a Fiat’. The chat seemed to go well but then Guardiola started to freeze me out.”
  • “I would walk into a room; he would leave. He would greet everyone by saying “hello”, but would ignore me. I had done a lot to adapt – the Barca players were like schoolboys, following the coach blindly, whereas I was used to asking ‘why should we?”
  • “At Barca, players were banned from driving their sports cars to training. I thought this was ridiculous – it was no one’s business what car I drive – so in April, before a match with Almeria, I drove my Ferrari Enzo to work. It caused a scene.”

On finding somewhere to live in Paris:

  • “We are looking for an apartment (in Paris). If we don’t find anything, then I’ll probably just buy the hotel.”

On his childhood:

  •  “I got a bike when I was little, a BMX. I called it ‘Fido Dido’ after the tough little cartoon guy with spiked hair. I thought he was the coolest thing ever. The bike got stolen outside of the Rosengård swimming baths and Dad went there with his shirt open and sleeves rolled up. He’s the kind of person that says: ‘No one touches my kids! No one takes their stuff’. But not even a tough guy like him could do anything about it. Fido Dido was gone, and I was crushed.

On his sexuality:

  • “Come to my house and you’ll see if I’m gay. And bring your sister.”

On his antics after winning the title with Juventus:

  • “It was the fault of David Trezeguet, who made me do one drink of vodka after another. I slept in the bathtub. Now I hold my vodka much better.”

On what he would buy his wife for her birthday

  • “Nothing, she already has Zlatan.”

On rejecting Arsene Wenger’s offer of a trial at Arsenal:

  • “Zlatan doesn’t do auditions.”
