England’s Euro 2012 Squad: The Wildcards

Wildcard #1 – Danny Graham – Graham has impressed with a series of brilliant performances for Swansea this season after they took a punt on the ex-Watford man having the skills to pay the premier league bills. Danny still has youth on his side and could still have an England career ahead of him. Worth a look in my book.

Wildcard #2 – Adrian Mariappa – Adrian has spent his whole career to date at Watford, but is really maturing into a top quality centre half, drawing attention from the likes of Newcastle, who were disappointed to miss out on the big man during the January transfer window. With not many English centre halves the right side of 30, Adrian might be worth a punt.

Wildcard #3 – Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – The Arsenal youngster has made his share of headlines this season, and though in the early stages of his career, his pace and unpredictability could make him the perfect wildcard. The rest of Europe hasn’t had the chance to see what this lad could do. Alex would make a brilliant impact sub and could be well worth including in the squad.

Wildcard #4 – Grant Holt – We ***ing love Grant Holt. The Norwich player is one of a dying-breed. Big burly English centre forwards. This lad has everything the opposition fear. He’s strong, intelligent and absolutely prolific. Like Graham, he has proved he can cut it at the top level this season and would be an aerial threat we wont find elsewhere easily. Call him up!
